I have spoken endlessly on this blog about the use of white in interior design. Perhaps it is the whole blank canvas thing. But I just love starting with a white space. This Australian home is owned by Nicola and Orlando Reindorf. Nicola and Orlando own a retail store and a fashion agency in Sydney Australia and love art, design and fashion which is quite evident when you look at their home. The use of white walls really allows the artwork to shine and helps to keep everything in balance. I also love the what Lucy of The Design Files calls the "mishmash approach" – that electric mix of contrasting styles. Mixing the old with the new, the hard with the soft and the victorian with the modern. Nothing matchy matchy here. Sculls, surf boards and crystal chandeliers but of course! To see more photos from this home (I just chose a smattering) please visit The Design Files, an Australian blog founded by Lucy Feagis dedicated to all things design. So stop on by it is truly a feast for the eyes.
